Quickscoping

Hey crew! With black ops coming out in just a week or so i wanted to talk about quickscoping. If you haven't already heard the news, Josh Olin Community manager of Treyarch studios had a recent Q&A on twitter, when asked if quickscoping was going to be in the game he replied with "No. Quickscoping is a cheap way to play. We're specifically going to gimp Quickscoping, sorry. Play straight-up!". Thinking the post was a joke another twitter user asked if he was kidding about earlier. He replied  "Nope. Quickscoping is way more annoying to a way larger group of people than the quickscoping community who loves to do it." and tagged it #cheap. The idea behind this was that quickscoping, which uses a game mechanic on console game called aim assist, is cheap because the game locks on to targets and allows snipers to scope in quickly and gun another player down without aiming. Treyarch and anti-quickscopers say that no real soldier in the military would ever quickscope and that quickscoping is unrealistic. So Treyarch has decided to gimp the sniper rifle by not allowing a player to do this. The perk slight of hand pro which allows a player to aim down the sights faster does not work on sniper rifles in the game, and when you scope in your cross hairs will not be set perfectly center with where they were before you scoped in.  Personally i'm very upset by this choice that Treyarch made and here is why. Many people love to quickscope and Treyarch is letting this HUGE demographic down, secondly if you give any slightly decent quickscoper and automatic weapon in the game i promise they will do better than if they had the sniper. Also the aim assist that people are complaining about is actually more accurately depicted by calling it sticky aim, aim assist on console does not make you snap to a target that you weren't aimed at before it just causes your aim to stick to a player as they pass the cross hairs for just a half second longer than usual. This is on every weapon in the game not just the sniper. Along with this, even if you think quickscoping is an exploit there are plenty of other exploits to take care of before quickscoping *Ahem*
noobtubes. Most of the people complaining are people who cannot quickscope them selves, and my point is how can you call quickscoping cheap if you can't do it your self? It obviously must take some skill if there are people who cannot do it. But i cannot place all the blame on other people who disagree with the game play style of quickscopers that has existed in many previous call of duty installments. Quickscopers often call other snipers who use a sniper traditionally "hardscopers" i totally understand why someone might be angry  when a snobby 9 year old  calls you a hardscoper just because you had your scope up for a quarter second too long. Quickscopers attitude towards other game play styles must change but I don't think taking quickscoping out of the game was a wise choice. Well thanks for reading my rant. if you want to see more about the multiplayer in black ops click the link below- Genuine Quickscoper Frankie Mcgee

Quick scoping Banned in Call of Duty: Black Ops

One of the news that have come out recently in the new Call of Duty: Black Ops and is a bad news to a community is the what Josh Olin said and about quick scoping. He has confirmed to many that in the new edition to the series of call of duty will and has found a way to make it more difficult for those who like  to quick scope in what came to be a new style to play in Call of Duty 4 and throughout Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Josh Olin refereed  to quick scoping "is a cheap way to play". Many people from the quick scoping community were offended by his commentary and are now trying  to find a new way to make quick scoping possible although it will be hard. What Josh Olin said was that they will not be able to quick scope due to the fact that slight of hand pro where you can aim 50% faster than a gun without the slight of hand pro. Slight of hand pro let snippers use the "cheap way to play" happen and now that it wont be there people who like to quickscope have been talking about it and are very mad a this. You can see how some people show their disgust here.

Gaming on OSX

The first gaming breakthrough for OSX (the operating system for Apple's computers) was in 1999 when Bungie, a small start up gaming company, announced that they would be releasing a revolutionary new game for OSX, Halo: Combat Evolved. This game had amazing artificial intelligence; the enemy would take cover when you shoot at them and when you threw grenades. Halo also had vehicles, which most other first person shooters did not have and it did not just have one vehicle it had almost a dozen. The last very interesting feature this game had was that it only allowed you to hold two guns at a time unlike most games where you could hold as many as you could find. Halo was the first of the modern games of the 21st century, and it was for OSX. Now the mighty Steve Jobs did not think that this Halo game would sell very well so he did not support Bungie in their quest to drastically change the gaming landscape. Bungie then switched camps and started devolving for windows, soon after Microsoft bought them because Microsoft saw the potential in the Halo games. Ever since the only major games for OSX were Bugdom, Ottomatic, and Nanosaur all made from Pangaea Games. Of course there were others but most of them were Windows games that people played on a Windows partition. The next major step forward for gaming in OSX happened last year when Steam was released for Mac. That opened a whole new portal where a lot of Windows games were released for Mac. If you want to see a current list of games that run natively for Mac look here.

Black ops costumization.

Call of Duty Black ops is going to come out with a customization thing that you will be able to customize your own character and differentiate other players more effectively. How will this work? Call of duty Black ops is going to have a sort of face paint or a thing sort of like that. You can put different emblems or color splotches in the face of your online character. This is a new feature that none of the so far call of duty series has come out with. You are also going to be able to personalize your gun’s laser pointer. This is also a new feature that players expecting Call of Duty: Black ops will be able to count on. Some of the laser pointers seen so far are a smiley face, and a heart but their might be able to be the chance that you can customize your own. Another feature that is going to be on Call of Duty: Black ops are that players are going to be able to customize their own guns and put their own camouflage in the gun.

Turtle Beach

Hey crew! This morning in a rush to get to the bus, I happed to step on my Xbox microphone and break it. So I've been looking around for a new headset and I came across a company that makes headsets called Turtle Beach. These headsets are super high quality and super useful. Most of the headsets have high quality digital surround sound in each ear cup so you can hear every footstep, reload, and the rumbling of grenades with ease. They have a beautiful goose neck microphone that adjusts to any position for complete comfort. Also these headsets come with what is called Chat Boost that increases the volume of your team chat when the game gets loud so there is no struggle to hear your team mates over all that ruckus and bass boost that makes explosions sound amazing. They are all supper sturdy and  have soft ear pads for a comfortable long term gaming experience. I've heard great things about these headsets and I can't wait to get hands on these things. Here is their website if you want to check them out---http://www.turtlebeach.com/ Keep on gaming- Extreme cage fighter Frankie Mcgee

Mario's Birthday

This week the forever well-known video game character Mario turns the big 25!! At a quarter of a century old our beloved hero has sold more then 285 million games in his lifetime making him the best selling video game series of all time. For all of you that thought that Mario’s first appearance was in his own game you would be wrong, Mario made his first public appearance in Donkey Kong in 1981. In honor of the plumber's quarter century Nintendo is releasing a special edition Mario red Wii with a Mario red Wiimote and a Mario red DSi and to play on your shiny red system you can play the special edition re-release of all the games Mario appeared in. Sadly all of you American Mario fans you have to drool from afar or hire a smuggler to bring you back the special edition consoles from Nintendo's homeland of Japan. For those of you that own a Wii and some Mario games I encourage you to go home and play them but for those of you 360 or PS3 owners here is a link to play the original Super Mario online in the wonderful platform hated by Apple, Flash.

Also in this update Bungie is adding new maps and and they are adding the game type SWAT into its own playlist, so no more having to play through obnoxious games of elite slayer just to do what you love: swapping head-shots in SWAT.  Keep on gaming- NYPD Officer Frankie Mcgee

Call of Duty Black ops Zombies Mode

It has been confirmed by Treyarch that the new Call of Duty Black Ops will have a zombie game mode. This is not the first time that the Call of Duty series has such a games mode. In Call of Duty World at War had a Nazi zombie edition. It has still not been confirmed what kind of games mode or how the game mode will play. What is known is that the zombies will bring a lot of gamers to this game due to the zombies. There will also have many other things incorporated in the zombie mode. It is established that the zombie’s game mode will be in a four-player co-op player mode. This video game will be so innovative and such a great hit to technology since it also is producing a new game mode named wager mode. This will be a game mode based on money, which the first three players in the leader board will be able to collect money from the other players in the game mode.

I myself love this because as a Call of Duty World at World owner love the Nazi zombies game mode at yet it being a sort of old game still do enjoy this part of the game. Knowing that there is going to be a newer version of it has brought to me much excitement.

The Delay of The Nintendo 3DS

Yesterday the tech news was buzzing about the fact that the much anticipated Nintendo 3DS will be postponed until a March release. The 3DS is a Nintendo DSi that the bottom screen is ripped out and inserted is a glasses-free 3d screen. On the exterior of the system a 3d camera is also added so the user can take 3d pictures. Originally seen at E3 a big gaming conference earlier this year the 3DS although not announced by Nintendo the media in the gaming market assumed that the 3DS would make an appearance in time for the holiday season. As of last week we learned that the highly anticipated 3DS will not make it out for market in time for a holiday season release. Analysts say this will kill Nintendo’s ever shrinking gaming market share. Without going into too much detail, the mobile gaming platform is being dominated by cell phone and other music players. Ever since the rise of applications for mobile devices like the iPhone and iPod touch the sales of single purpose gaming platforms wile the DS and the PSP have been declining. The 3DS could jump start those sales because it would bring a feature (3D) that no other mobile device could bring. As of today we learned that the 3DS will go on sale in Japan in march for the equivalent of 300 dollars, there is no conformed price or release date for the states though but at 300 dollars that would be one of the most expensive mobile gaming platforms of all time.
